Covid cases again increasing in Maharashtra

MUMBAI: Coronavirus breakdown has taken over many lives in India and in the state of Maharashtra, the highest number of Covid-19 patients were recorded during the pandemic.

After the vaccination drive has begun in India, many states have registered a decline in the number of cases but in the state of Maharashtra, the disease has created havoc with number of cases again increasing.

According to the information, the decline in the cases have been recorded in the last 42 days, but still, Maharashtra is the most affected state in the country. It has left Kerala behind with 3,365 new Covid-19 patients. On Monday, 2,884 patients were tested positive in Kerala. The reports say that after November 30, 2020, now so many cases are being reported from the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that if the cases will not decline in the coming days then the state government will have to take strict measures.

On Monday, 23 deaths were recorded in the state. Total 51,552 patients lost their lives so far and the number of infected people in Maharashtra has reached 20,67,643. According to the reports of the last 6 days, more than 3 thousand cases are being reported daily in the state.

In Dharavi, Mumbai, BMC has deployed mobile testing vans because of the rise in the cases. In areas like G North Ward of Dharavi, Dadar, and Mahim a weekly growth rate of 0.12 percent has been observed.

RT-PCR test is mandatory for the citizens traveling from Kerala to Maharashtra. High-level teams were sent by the central government as the cases were uncontrollable in Kerala and Maharashtra.

On Monday, the testing done was less than 4.9 lakh. In the last six months for the first time, the number of testings has been so low.
Deaths recorded on Monday in all over India were 82 after which the death figure has reached up to 1,55,844.
