Covid-19: Natasha Poonawalla takes jab in Mumbai

MUMBAI: Vaccination campaign is being carried out across the country to eradicate the Covid-19 epidemic. Meanwhile, wife of Serum Institute of India’s (SII) CEO Adar Poonawalla, Natasha Poonawalla also got vaccinated.

“Proud to take the jab. Only after thorough rounds of local and international clinical trials, #Covishield vaccines were deemed safe and effective,” she wrote on Twitter.

Natasha Poonawalla is the executive director of Serum Institute of India and chairperson of the Villoo Poonawalla Foundation. Along with being a businesswoman, she’s also a fashion icon.

She is very close to all big Bollywood and Hollywood personalities and British royalty. Natasha’s interest in fashion is not new. People all over the world also know her as a big fashionista.

Apart from being a fashionista she’s also the chairperson of the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund for India.

After being appointed the chairperson of ‘British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund for India’ by Prince Charles, she worked in the fields of education, healthcare, sanitization, child trafficking and child protection and sexual violence. She says, “Our focus has always been on the Foundation’s working on issues related to health, vaccine safety, education and the environment.”

In an interview to a magazine, she said, ‘I was very young when my mother got married. However, my stepfather also loved me very much and as a result I had three fathers – my real father, stepfather and my aunt’s husband. ‘

She also added, ‘I was the only girl born after many years in my family, so there was no shortage of people holding my finger around me. I was born in a cottage in Koregaon Park, Pune, which was one lane away from Osho ashram.”
