Coronavirus : Total Cases Exceed 23 Thousand in India, 721 People Died So Far

New Delhi : Coronavirus cases are continuously increasing in India. In the last 24 hours, a total of 1229 new patients of Coronavirus have been reported and 34 patients have died. The total number of cases increased to 23,039 after new patients appeared. Of these cases, 17,306 are active cases, 5,012 patients have been cured and 721 people have died. The situation is gradually getting serious. Earlier in the press conference of the Ministry of Health, Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said that earlier there were 4 districts from where no cases had come, now this number has increased to 12. There are 78 such districts in the country where there have been no cases since last 14 days.

The Health Ministry said that 34 people have been killed by the virus since Wednesday evening, out of which 18 died in Maharashtra, eight in Gujarat, three in Andhra Pradesh, two in Rajasthan and one each in Delhi, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh. Maharashtra has recorded the highest number of 283 deaths due to COVID-19 infection so far. At the same time, the death toll from coronavirus is increased to 55 in Indore. The number of patients has increased to 1687 after receiving 84 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

MHA Joint Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava said that the back side attendant and care services of senior citizens have been exempted from restrictions. Prepaid mobile recharge services, food processing industries located in urban areas like milk processing units, bread factories, flour mills is exempt. He said that it has been permittedto open educational book shops for students and electric fan shops in view of the summer season.
