Coronavirus India: Active cases down for fifth consecutive day, Recovery rate exceeds 81 per cent

New Delhi: Active cases of Covid-19 in the country have slowed down considerably for the fifth consecutive day offering a big relief to the citizens and government. Along with the active cases count going down, the recovery rate of patients has also increased significantly.

According to the Ministry of Health, as of Wednesday (September 23) 8am, 83347 new cases of coronavirus were reported across the country in the last 24 hours and the total progressive cases have now reached 5,646,011.

On Wednesday, for the fifth consecutive day, a decrease in active corona cases has been registered. However, the number of people who lost their lives due to corona is also increasing continuously.

Although the number of new cases of Covid-19 is rising, more people are now getting cured from the infectious disease. During the last 24 hours, 89746 people across the country have recovered from the Covid-19 disease.

So far, a total of 45,87,614 people in the country have been cured of corona and the recovery rate of coronavirus in the country has been 81.25 percent. Active cases have declined due to the greater number of people recovering than new corona cases. Active cases of corona have decreased for the fifth consecutive day and now the total number of active cases has come down to 9,68,377. According to data from the Union Health Ministry, 1085 people lost their lives due to Covid-19 in 24 hours. The Coronavirus outbreak has so far caused 90,020 deaths in the country.

Covid-19 testing for patients is being continuously carried out across the country. On Tuesday, more than 9.53 lakh Covid tests were conducted across the country and the total Covid tests have now crossed 6.62 crores. India is having the most Covid tests conducted worldwide after the United States of America.
