Coronavirus in India : Chinese Man Sought Help from Police on Not Getting Hotel Room in Kerala, They Admitted Him to Hospital

Thiruvananthapuram: A Chinese man in Kerala, upset over not getting a hotel to stay, approached the Thiruvananthapuram police but was admitted to a different ward of the hospital instead of the hotel. The 25-year-old tourist who visited India reached the state capital on Tuesday, police said. When all attempts to get room in the hotel failed, he reached the city police commissioner’s office with a complaint. He told that as soon as the policemen heard that he had come from China, they took him to a separate ward of the hospital. In China, 563 people have died due to coronavirus.

This tourist from Sichuan province has no symptoms of the virus. However, his samples have been sent for examination. It is being told that he reached Delhi on 23 January and arrived here by plane on Tuesday. After reaching Thiruvananthapuram, he set out to find a room in the hotel but being from China, he was refused room. He then sought help from the police.

The police of the Special Branch immediately informed the health officials and the District Magistrate office and on the instructions of the District Medical Officer, he was admitted to a separate ward of the General Hospital. Police said that he will remain in a separate ward until the results are reached. The central government has also been informed. Apart from the Chinese youth, 2,528 people including two other foreign nationals are under investigation in the state for Coronavirus infection.
