Coronavirus Ahmedabad: Pregnant women need to conduct Covid test before delivery

Ahmedabad : As a result of the increasing cases of corona, pregnant women have to be tested for corona when it comes time for delivery and if her corona is positive, gynecologist who has been monitoring her health for eight months may refuse treatment and instruct her to go to another hospital.

As a result, parents become troubled to find a hospital for the delivery of Corona positive ‘would be mother’ at the last minute. Many pregnant women in Ahmedabad have experienced this.

As a result, if the doctor who takes care of a pregnant woman for eight-and-a-half months refuses to do delivery of a corona positive mother, she needs to plan in advance which other hospital she should visit for healthy delivery. The government has made it mandatory for a pregnant woman to have a corona test before delivery to see if she has symptoms of corona.

As a result, delivery is not possible without testing. The gynecologist doctor, nursing staff, is at risk of becoming a victim of corona if a corona-positive pregnant woman is mistakenly delivered. So they do not choose to deliver without testing.

But if the corona test is positive, the doctor of your choice, who has taken care of your pregnancy since the beginning, may not conduct delivery. They send you to a nearby Corona Hospital.

As a result, whether you want or not, you have to have your delivery at Corona Designated Hospital and its doctors. Yes, in some cases even the doctor who has been watching you for eight months is likely to come to Covid Hospital and have you delivered.

In these circumstances, every pregnant woman and her family member should collect information on where to get alternative treatment and where the delivery can be done if the pregnant woman tests positive for corona 45 days before the date of delivery. After collecting this information, it is equally important to get an advance estimate of the cost otherwise a huge financial burden is likely to come.
