Coronavirus : 14-Month-Old Infant Dies in Jamnagar, 175 Cases of Infection in Gujarat

Jamnagar : A 14-month-old infant died of a corona virus infection in Jamnagar, Gujarat. An official statement said that the 14-month-old infant of a migrant worker died in a government hospital in Jamnagar on April 5. According to the statement, his condition was critical since he was admitted to the hospital. Two days earlier he was found infected with Coronavirus and the child was on ventilator. Many of his organs had stopped functioning.

According to the statement, he has become the youngest patient to die of Coronavirus infection in the state. The number of Covid-19 affected people has reached 175 after 29 new cases of Corona virus infection were reported in Gujarat on Tuesday. An official gave this information.

Of the new cases registered, 19 infected patients are from Ahmedabad, after which the total number of infected persons in the district has reached 83. Chief Secretary (Health) Jayanthi Ravi said that today 3 cases have been confirmed in Surat and Patan, while one case each has been confirmed in Bhavnagar, Anand, Sabarkantha and Rajkot.

The health officer said that after the death of two patients in Surat and one patient in Patan on Tuesday, the number of such cases has increased to 15. A 52-year-old man was locally infected with the virus in Surat and died while undergoing treatment at SMIMER Hospital.

An official said that he was found infected in the investigation report on Monday. Surat Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner (Health) Ashish Naik said that in Surat itself, the infection of Covid-19 was confirmed on April 5 in a 65-year-old man. He died during treatment on Tuesday.
