Chandrayaan-II lifts off

NIKHIL BORKAR, NPnews24 Online: The much-awaited countdown for the launch of Chandrayaan-2 mission become successful at 2:43 PM evening.

India’s second mission to the moon came with some technical glitch on July 15, but it became successful on July 22.

India’s rocket carrying an orbiter, lander and a rover in a stepped up moon to uncover lunar secrets launched into space. It will study the elements on Moon will find out the target or evidence on water, clues about the moon’s evolution.

The launch vehicle, the GSLV MK-3, is the country’s most powerful rocket to date. The 640-tonne rocket, capable of carrying 4-tonne satellite.
