CBSE reduces syllabus for Class 10 board exams

Due to the pandemic, regular school studies have been severely affected

NEW DELHI: Giving a big relief to Class 10 student, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to lessen the burden of students by changing the syllabus of social science.

The board will be removing certain chapters from the subject to reduce the burden on students.

According to the timetable of the class 10 board examination, the social science exam will be conducted on May 27 which means students have enough time to prepare for the exam.

CBSE has removed 5 units from the subject’s theory topics. CBSE will be officially declaring about the changes on their website.

According to the Union Education Ministry, because of the pandemic the working schedule of schools have been changed, as the working days now are less than before and students were constantly connected online for the classes. After going through all the aspects in favour of students the board has decided to reduce the syllabus to which parents also agreed.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal stated that because of the pandemic, health challenges have been raised and also affected student’s curriculum, CBSE has reduced the syllabus to lessen the burden on students.

According to the information, CBSE has decreased the syllabus of other subjects by 30 per cent after the ministry ordered to reduce the syllabus. The school teachers and other authorities will be explaining the parts which are going to be reduced from the syllabus.
