Car driver undressed and robbed; five arrested for robbing drivers on Sinhagad road, Hingane, Navale Bridge area

Pune :  NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Crime | The Sinhagad Road Police have arrested a gang of five people, who forcibly picked up a car driver from Hingane Chowk, took him to a graveyard and robbed him after undressing him. (Pune Crime)

 

The arrested have been identified as Vinod Shivaji Jamdare (32) from Vadgaon, Rohit Vikas Shingare (19) from Hadapsar, Vishal Vitthal Randive (22) from Solapur, Gaurav Gangadhar Shinde from Tadsaudne, Barshi, district Solapur and Nitin Suresh Jogdand (35) from Bibvewadi, Pune. One of their accomplices has taken advantage of the darkness and escaped.

 

According to details, on Tuesday, the police team was patrolling in the Navale Bridge area around 4.30 am. At that time, a car driver told them that his four-wheeler was on rent and around 1.30 am two persons beat him up near Hingane Chowk and called other accomplices after getting him into the car. He said after taking him near Hingane cremation ground, they undressed him and then robbed. The accused took Rs 2,200 and a mobile phone from him and sought Rs 50,000 from his home. (Pune Crime)

 

The accused’s car ran out of petrol. Taking advantage of it, the car driver fled from there and approached the police. Considering the seriousness of the incident, API Rahul Patil started the investigation. A police team apprehended the accused while they were fleeing in front of the BP petrol pump on Katraj road.

 

Among the arrested accused, Vinod Jamdare has 7 serious crimes like murder, robbery, extortion filed against him within limits of Sinhagad road, Dattawadi, Warje -Malwadi police stations. A case of attempted murder has been registered against Gaurav Shinde at Barshi Police Station while a case under Arms Act has been registered against Nitin Jogdand at Dattawadi Police Station.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Retesh Kumarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Upper Police Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police Suhail Sharma, ACP Sunil Pawar. the team comprising Senior PI Shailesh Sankhe, Police Inspector (Crime) Jayant Rajurkar, API Rahul Yadhav, API Deepak Kadbane, API Kurale, Uttekar, Police Constables Kekan, Amit Salunke, Police Constables Deva Chavan, Shivaji Kshirsagar, Rahul Olekar took the action.
