BREAKING NEWS: Trio granted bail in builder extortion case

Pune: Trio included suspended police constable, Shailesh Jagtap, former reporter Devendra Jain,and woman has granted bail by the court on the bail amount of Rs 15,000.

Earlier,on Tuesday based on a complaint filed by builder Sudhir Vasant Karnataki (64), a resident of Shiv-Tirth Nagar, Paud Road, Kothrud, Pune police had registered an FIR against Barhate.

Charges levelled against Barhate included threatening Karnataki to implicate him in a false rape case and demanding Rs 2 crore and transferring ownership of land plot in Rasta Peth area.

Seven people, including including a suspended police constable and a former reporter, were booked for allegedly trying to extort Rs 2 crore and property from a builder by threatening to file a criminal case against him.

But,finally three has been granted bail as above.
