Blue Whale Challenge returns; Takes the life of 17-year-old

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- Blue Whale Challenge has taken the lives of many youngsters and teenagers till date. The game which became the reason for many suicides seems to be back again!

A 17-year-old committed suicide in her house and it is being suspected that the death was caused as she was playing a suicide game called ‘Blue Whale Challenge’.

Police inspector Vijay Talware of Beltarodi police station said, “The girl hanged herself by a dupatta to the ceiling fan of her room on the first floor of her house where she used to study.”

Adding further to it he informed, “We found there was ‘cut here to exit’ written on her hand, giving rise to the suspicion that she may have been a mobile game addict. Her father, a retired air force personnel, has said that she used to play mobile games. But the exact reason behind the suicide would be known only after we receive a report from the forensic and cyber expert.”

As per the information provided by the deceased’s father to the police, she had taken a year drop in her 12th standard and was repeating the year as she was unable to secure good marks and get admission in any reputed good college.

Also, she gradually became a mobile addict and faced difficulty in concentrating. Most of the times, she was seen tagged along with her mobile phone but were unaware of what she was up to, said her father.

Blue Whale challenge is a suicide game which is to be played for 50 days, various tasks are given from the first day to the player until he/she completes the last task which is suicide.

The police had taken major steps earlier to destroy all the sources from which the game was downloaded but seems that was not it!
