Bihar Assembly elections : Shiv Sena to contest on 50 seats

Patna: The Bihar elections have so far created a lot of buzz across the country. All the political parties are set to participate in the Bihar Assembly polls which are just a few weeks away. All the parties are about to announce the names of the candidates. This time Shiv Sena has also jumped into the Bihar elections. Shiv Sena will contest 50 seats in the Bihar Assembly and will also field a candidate against former Bihar Director General of Police Gupteswar Pandey, who has accused Mumbai Police and the Maharashtra government of negligence in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai in an interview confirmed the decision on the backdrop of Bihar Assembly elections. MP Desai pointed out, “Maharashtra, Mumbai and Shiv Sena were slandered in the Sushant Singh Rajput case without any reason. People knew it had nothing to do with anyone, yet the politics of revenge were carried out. We are going to get this back by contesting Bihar elections now. We are contesting 50 seats in Bihar elections. Shiv Sena had contested the elections in Bihar in 2015, in which Shiv Sena had garnered more than two lakh votes”.

Former Bihar Director General of Police Gupteswar Pandey has resigned from the post and joined the JDU. Anil Desai said that he will field a candidate against Gupteswar Pandey.  Pandey is rumored to be contesting from the Assembly constituency on Buxar JD (U) ticket. “Everyone has seen how the DGP in the past has reacted and talked. It would be inappropriate for Pandey to make such statements while remaining in office. However, our Mawla (soldier) is ready to face them. Pandey will know the strength of Maharashtra, we are fielding candidates in front of him,” added MP Anil Desai.
