Bhoot Movie Review : Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Bhoot’ is Very Scary, Don’t Take Young Children With You

Mumbai: Horror is a genre in which much possibilities are yet to be explored. Suddenly the sound of a movement, sudden appearance of a shadow in the mirror and the moving of the ghost in the room which the audience has been watching for quite some time. Dharma Production has stepped into horror for the first time and Vicky Kaushal’s first horror film Bhoot has arrived.

This film, based on a true incident. There are two biggest challenges while making a horror film. The first is that the film should scare you and the second is that you don’t find it boring or cumbersome. Both these aspects are taken care in Vicky Kaushal’s film.

What is the story of the film ?

Prithvi (Vicky Kaushal), who lost his younger daughter and wife (Bhumi Pednekar) in an accident, now lives alone in Mumbai and works as a shipping officer. Prithvi considers himself responsible for the death of his wife and daughter, so the guilt of this thing always remains in him. He does everything he can to help a child or a woman.

This trauma is so severe on the mind of Prithvi that he sees his wife and daughter. He is getting the doctor to treat his hallucinations but does not take medicines so that he can see his wife and his daughter always like this. Riyaz, a friend of Prithvi, always tries to persuade him to do all this, but Prithvi does not believe. Everything is going fine and one day suddenly a deserted ship Sea-Bird arrives on the shore.

There are many stories about Sea Bird. The public of Mumbai is in a panic due to the sudden arrival of this ship on the seashore. Therefore, the pressure on the company of Prithvi to remove this ship from there increases. Responsibility comes to Prithvi and when he goes to inspect the ship, all the strange things start to happen to him. When the Prithvi investigates, in front of him comes a creeping puzzle which he takes to solve.

Along with solving the puzzle, the story begins to unravel. It can be said that the concept is new. There are small jokes in the middle of the film that prevent the story from becoming too cumbersome. What is the secret of Sea-Bird that is killing people? Does Vicky Kaushal have any old connection to this ship? Does the ghost of this haunted ship kill Vicky Kaushal or let him go? This is the story of the film.

How is the film ?

Vicky Kaushal’s performance in the film is amazing and it can be said that he has once again proved himself as a good actor. The roles of Bhumi Pednekar and Ashutosh Rana are small but they have done their job well. It is a horror film, so the question is obviously coming whether this film scares you? The answer is yes. Graphics and VFX matter a lot in any horror film and their work is worthy of a compliment in the film.

Background music and songs

Talking about the music and background score of the film, there is only one song in the entire film which comes in its beginning. The music and lyrics of the song are amazing and the audience has already liked it a lot. As far as the background score of the film is concerned, which is very important in any horror film. So it can be said that it will impress you.

The story of the film is strong and meets your expectations. Concepts like Ashutosh Rana to chant and do something for the liberation of soul are kept in the film. It can be said that the horror of the film may be of international level but its climax has been kept quite indigenous.
