Bengaluru man threatens and sets his ex-girlfriend’s scooter on fire after break-up

Bengaluru: In a violent turn of events, a man threatened and set his former girlfriend’s two-wheeler on fire after she called off the relationship. The incident took place in Vidyaranyapura region of north Bengaluru, Karnataka.

 The victim said in her complaint that accused Sanjay Murthy had threatened to kill her after the breakup and also threatened to kill her mother. The girl said that about a year ago, her mother came to know about their love affair. The victim told the police that she ended her relationship with Sanjay last year after her mother expressed objections over their union.

The victim said that Sanjay had been torturing her mentally since the breakup. He had come to her house on January 12 last month and threatened to kill her. However, she refused to speak to him and requested him to leave the place immediately, the woman mentioned in her police complaint.

The girl said in her complaint that Sanjay had poured petrol on her scooter parked outside her house on January 2 and set it on fire. Police have registered an FIR and are investigating the matter.
