Bapat changes his mind after meeting Fadnavis; ready to participate in campaigning

After BJP leaders met MP Girish Bapat and Sanjay Kakade yesterday, both of them have decided to be active in the Kasba Peth Bypoll Election. A meeting of BJP office-bearers was organized at Kesari Wada of the Tilak family under the chairmanship of MP Girish Bapat. The family members of Mukta Tilak also attend it.
The BJP has started making strong preparations to win the Kasba Peth constituency election. Devendra Fadnavis has been in Pune since Wednesday. A session of meetings to strategize and plan the campaign has begun. Fadnavis met Bapat at his Ghole Road residence. Bapat decided to become active in the campaign despite being ill. On Thursday, he participated in the gathering of corporators, officials and workers of the party.

Girish Bapat has single-handedly ruled the Kasba Peth assembly constituency for the past several years. Therefore, he is called the kingmaker in the by-election. Bapat also played an important role during Mukta Tilak’s win. However, he has withdrawn from the election campaign, citing the reason of illness. After Bapat announced his decision on Wednesday, Devendra Fadnavis met him at night. Later, Bapat changed his mind and decided to enter the campaign.
