Bad day for Punekars; faced trouble due to huge traffic jam and collision

Puneites faced a tough time this dealing with rain and traffic jam, the start of this week. The people of Pune have been facing difficulties due to non-stop showers of rain termination of signal systems. Therefore, there was a long queue of vehicles seen stuck in traffic on road.

The traffic problem persisted for about six hours, from morning eight o’clock till the afternoon. Traffic police had to take efforts to clear out the traffic.

The citizens faced traffic congestion mainly in Sinhagad, river bank route, Warje-Karvenagar, Prabhat road, law college road, Gopal Krishna Gokhale path (Fergusson road), Jangli Maharaj road, and such areas.

The people stuck on the streets of Sinhagad area were so frustrated that they wanted to drive back to their homes. There had been a troublesome situation for the two-wheelers, four-wheelers, school student vehicles, PMPML Buses. The College going students reached their destinations late and the office workers started their work late as well.

“There was very severe traffic jam on the road from Sinhagad Road to Rajaram Pool, it was also raining badly. My office is at Sadashiv Peth. I always take 30 minutes to go to the office, but today due to traffic, I was 2 hours late.” such feedback was given by Pritu Raj.
On the other hand, the citizens living in Bhosari were trapped in traffic for half an hour because of a collision between an auto rickshaw and an Asiad ST bus which was travelling from Shirdi to Pune. An auto rickshaw’s mirror was smashed due to the collision of ST. In order to take revenge, the auto-rickshaw driver followed the bus and later stopped the bus half-way.

The fight between both continued for a long time and a mess was created on the road, blocking the road. Hence, the passengers faced a lot of trouble.

The bus driver apologized, but the rickshaw driver was not ready to stop fighting and demanded compensation for his loss. The fight settled down on getting 70 rupees by the bus driver to the rickshaw driver.

After the massive fight between both the drivers, the passengers took a sigh of relief and discussed among themselves that they could have got down and tried to stop the quarrel after the fight was resolved!

Prabhat Road, Wadgaon Dhayri, Wild Master’s Road, Shiva road, Warje, Karvenagar road
Fergusson Road, Deccan.
