Senior clerk from PWD booked by ACB Pune for demanding Rs 15,000 bribe

Pune : NpNews24 Online –  A senior clerk from the Public Works Department (PWD) was booked on Monday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Pune for demanding Rs 15,000 bribe to issue a licence to carry out government work.

 

The accused has been identified as Anil Kondaji Adhari (40). A 42-year-old person lodged a complaint with the ACB, Pune in this regard. The ACB cross-checked the complaint on September 29, 2021. Later, an offence was registered against Adhari at the Bund Garden police station on December 31, 2021.

 

According to the police, Anil Adhari works at the sub-division of the PWD in Mangalwar Peth. The complainant had applied for a licence with the PWD to carry out government work by his company. Adhari sought Rs 10,000-15,000 for himself and his seniors to issue the licence. The ACB verified the complaint and found it to be true. Hence, an offence under the Anti-Corruption Act was registered against him at the Bund Garden police station.

 

The action was taken by the ACB, Pune under the guidance of ACB (Pune) SP Rajesh Bansode, Addl SP Suraj Gurav and Addl SP Suhas Nadgauda. PI Alka Sarag is investigating further.
