Alia Bhatt records song for ‘Sadak 2’

Alia had earlier sung in her movies like ‘Highway’, ‘Badrinath ki Dulhaniya’ and ‘Udta Punjab’.

‘Sadak 2’ is Alia’s first project with her father, famous director and producer Mahesh Bhatt.

Mahesh Bhatt is directing a film after almost 20 years.

“While Jeet Gannguly’s score is ready, the lyrics are still being worked upon. Jeet da wanted to understand Alia’s pitch and voice modulation, so they decided to record the scratch. The lyrics will now be rewritten under the supervision of Mahesh Bhatt,” the makers said in a statement.

“It is a romantic number and comes at a crucial point in the film. The final track will be recorded only after the unit returns from their Ooty schedule in August,” the makers added.

The film is scheduled to release in July next year. It also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt. The movie is expected to be a sequel to the 1991 hit film Sadak, which also had Sanjay and Pooja as the main lead.

Actors Jishu Sengupta, Akshay Anand and Priyanka Bose will also star in the film as the supporting cast.

Other than Sadak 2, Alia will also be seen alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy drama ‘Brahmastra’ and in SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which also stars NT Rama Rao Jr, Ram Charan and Ajay Devgn.
