Ali Asgar as ‘Dadi’ says- ‘They Pinched my butt’, revealed his #MeToo story

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- In the era of #MeToo where various female celebrities have been sharing their #MeToo stories alleging males of sexual harassment, we can expect such allegations from men  too!

Famous comedian Ali Asgar who got famed from the show, Comedy Nights with Kapil which used to air on Colours channel has shared his sexual harassment story with the media in an interview.

He said, “While I was in the female character of Dadi, drunk men were putting their hands on my chest, they were pinching my butt”.

While speaking to a leading newspaper he recalled his life’s worse incident during a wedding in Delhi, he said, “Wherever I go for such shows, I don’t let the anchor announce my name, I just enter as Dadi.”  And when he reached the wedding location people were drunk.

Recalling the night he told how after the harassment, one of his female colleagues had to come and save him from the situation. Asking a question, he said, “Did they not realise that I was a man dressed as a woman? And even if they did, I was playing an old lady. Have they no shame?”

Later he added that not all his experiences were worse, he said, “Quite often, people are not able to tell that it is actually a guy playing a woman. I don’t know if that is a compliment”.

Later which, he recalled an incident were actress Jacqueline Fernandez called him to fix a mic an he had to remind himself that he was not a woman but a man.

Ali will be next seen in an upcoming sketch comedy show of Sunil Grover, Kanpur Wale Khurana’s playing a female character.

Ali expresses that he plays female characters as it has affected his career a lot and is offered such type of roles. He said, “I am comfortable playing a female character, but as a performer I want to balance my roles”.
