Ajit Pawar | “If we can form an alliance with Shiv Sena, then why can’t we do so with the BJP?” asks Ajit Pawar after taking oath as Deputy CM

MUMBAI : NpNews24 Online  –  NCP leader Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister on Sunday. He was administered the oath of office by Governor Ramesh Bais. Apart from Pawar, eight more MLAs also took oath. After taking oath, Ajit Pawar held a press conference. “If we can form an alliance with Shiv Sena, we can do it with BJP,” Pawar said.

Earlier today, Ajit Pawar decided to join the BJP-Shiv Sena government with NCP MLAs. After the oath-taking ceremony, Pawar staked claim over NCP. Pawar said in the press conference that he will contest the 2024 LS election under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. He also asked when he could join hands with Shiv Sena, he can also do so with the BJP. He also reiterated that he will contest all future elections under the symbol of wristwatch. Pawar said that he had taken this decision considering the interests of the state.

“The country needs strong leadership. I had spoken clearly in the party’s foundation day programme. It is necessary to give opportunities to youths and new leaders should come to the fore. I will make efforts in this direction. Even during the coronavirus pandemic, our focus was on development. I am only concerned with work. I will make efforts to ensure that the state gets funds from the Centre. Majority of MLAs agreed with me when I took this decision,” Pawar said.

“We have joined the government as the NCP and in the future, we will contest the election on the clock symbol. During Nagaland elections, we went with the BJP. Some people will allege that the decision was taken three and half years ago. At that time, MVA did its work. If we can form an alliance with Shiv Sena, then why can’t we do so with the BJP? It will be my endeavour to strengthen the party,” Pawar added.
