Afghanistan man gets Indian passport, Aadhaar card in Pune, now asked to Leave India

In a major security breach, a citizen of Afghanistan who had come to Pune on student visa, married an Indian woman then got his Aadhaar card as well as Indian passport.

After the incident came to light, Pune city police issued Leave India notice to the man identified as Abdul Qadiri (24). On Thursday he was sent back to Afghanistan.

He had come to Pune in 2014 for studies and lived in Kondhwa. He studied BBA at a college in Camp. In 2016, he married a woman from Bhawani Peth and obtained his Aadhaar card, PAN card. Later he applied for passport and Khadak police station gave clear verification report in November 2017. And the passport was issued in the name of Abdul Hameed Noor Mohammad Qadiri.

Pune police commissioner Rashmi Shukla has ordered a departmental enquiry against the policemen involved in passport verification.
