Actress ‘raped’ by man promising to marry her in Rajasthan

Shocking reports that a 22-year-old model and TV actress was allegedly raped by her colleagues under the pretext of marriage. In this case, an FIR has been registered in Oshiwara police station, Mumbai.

“This man from Kanpur had promised to marry me. He took me to Delhi to meet his family members. While coming back, he took me to a hotel in Alwar in Rajasthan and raped me. When I resisted he threatened to kill me”, the actress stated in her complaint.

The police got her medical tests done and have sent the FIR to Alwar police for further investigation. Police have charged the accused of offenses under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including rape.

Both friends from college

According to the actress, both of them were studying together in a college in Mumbai. After the college, both of them were busy in their careers. A few days back, he contacted her through social media. Then there was a good friendship between the two and they decided to meet. After the meeting, the actor offered the marriage proposal to her. She accepted her proposal and on August 3, both of them went to Kanpur to meet her family members. After this, the actor took her to Neemrana in Rajasthan and raped her on September 4.

Meanwhile, the actress told everything to his family members. But they ignored it. After some days he came to meet her and apologized to her. He then again took her to Rajasthan and raped her again. After the victim asked for marriage, he started giving vague answers. After that, he stopped taking her calls and then switched off his mobile phone, police sources said.

Summons issued to accused

Sanjay Puniya, SHO, Neemrana police station, said that they received a zero FIR from Oshiwara police station in Mumbai regarding the case on Wednesday. He said summons have been sent to the accused and the victim has been asked to visit Neemrana for further investigation. However, both the victim and accused are yet to respond, he said.

According to police, the actress had befriended the man through social media. They exchanged numbers via Facebook chat and also frequently talked via video calls. The couple started chatting for hours and then decided to get married. However, the man asked the girl to meet him once to take their discussions further. So, they planned a tour to a few interesting locations such as Shajapur, Lucknow, Delhi, and Neemrana. They stayed together during this tour and had physical relations. The victim’s sister also traveled along with them.

After returning, he started ignoring her.
