A teacher from Mumbai drowns in Pavana Dam

Lonavala : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Pimpri Crime |  A teacher from Mumbai, who came for a picnic with his family in Lonavla area, drowned in the Pavana Dam. The incident took place on Sunday around 11 am. The deceased teacher’s name is Premprakash Roshanlal Bhatia (62). (Pune Pimpri Crime)

 

The Bhatia family had come for a picnic at Dudhiware village along Pavana Dam backwater area on Sunday. Around 11 am, Premprakash went down to swim in the water of Pavana Dam. While swimming, Bhatia suffocated and drowned. As soon as they got to know about the incident, the Lonavala Rural Police rushed to the spot. They started a search mission with the help of villagers. The team of Shivdurg organisation also reached the spot.

 

Bhatia was pulled out of the water in an unconscious state by the Shivdurg team. He was immediately admitted to the hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead before treatment. A case of accidental death has been registered at the Lonavala rural police station.
