8 vehicles vandalised in Yerawada, search for accused underway: Pune police

PUNE: As many as eight vehicles were vandalised near Mahatma Phule Udyan in Phule Nagar in Yerawada on Sunday around 8.30 pm. Two persons suffered injuries in a stone-pelting incident.

A group of miscreants carrying iron rods and stones, went on a rampage and vandalised eight vehicles, assaulting two persons near Mahatma Phule Udyan in Yerawada. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Yerawada for treatment.

Pune and its nearby areas have reported several cases of vehicle vandalism and torching in the recent past. While most have been consequences of opposition between local groups of miscreants, some have been because of personal arguments.

Police are searching for the accused and are investigating the case.
