7-Days’ National Mourning Declared Over Former President Pranab Mukherjee’s Demise

New Delhi : The Government of India announced with profound sorrow the death of Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India at Army Research & Referral Hospital, New Delhi on 31st August 2020. Former President Pranab Mukherjee died at the age of 84 years. He became President in 2012 and held the post till 2017.

As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, seven days State Mourning will be observed throughout India from 31.08.2020 to 06.09.2020, both days inclusive. During the period of State Mourning, the National Flag will be half-masted throughout the period of the mourning throughout India.
