6 Shiv Sena goons arrested for attacking 62-yr-old Navy veteran over a ‘Whatsapp forward’

Mumbai: Amid Kangana Vs Shiv Sena Rift, a video was viral on social media. The video displayed Shiv Sena goons have allegedly attacked an ex-Navy officer on Friday over a satirical Whatsapp forward.

A FIR has been registered in Samta Nagar Police Station, Mumbai against one Kamlesh Kadam and his 8-10 associates for beating up a former Navy officer Madan Sharma. The police has arrested 6 of the attackers. Another attacker Sanjay Manjare was also arrested.

The 62-year-old retired Navy veteran -Madan Sharma, is currently under treatment at Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali. The officer has allegedly filed a complaint against the Sena workers at Kandivali police station.

According to sources Sharma- a Kandivali resident, was attacked by goons led by a Shiv Sena ‘Shakha’ head, who allegedly barged into Sharma’s compound. Calling the ex-Navy officer to come out of his house, the Sena unit chief allegedly attacked him.

The Whatsapp forward was a satirical cartoon featuring Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and his allies – Sharad Pawar and Sonia Gandhi
