5 drunk men brutally beats Zomato delivery boy

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE-    Food fight is something we often do but brutally beating up someone for food is something which is shocking and ridiculous.

Previously, in Mumbai a student was assaulted by foodpanda delivery boy over cancelling food. Moving to the north in Delhi, Swiggy delivery boys beat a customer with steel rod and punctured his lungs. Other side overseas in Kuwait, a customer beat an Asian after no pickle in his order.

Lately we saw a Zomato Delivery guy unsealing the meal and having a bite and sealing it again.

Now a group of five drunken men has beaten a Zomato delivery boy brutally and snatched away the food from him after he refused to give them food. A case has been registered against the five and police are trying to find out the unknown attackers.

As per reports, the delivery man of Zomato, Gottam Krishna Reddy was going to deliver the order in East Balaji Hills colony in Boduppal. Around 10:15 pm, Reddy was stopped by five people who were drunk near Boduppal and they forcibly took away the food from him.

When Reddy refused to hand over the food to them, they started beating and kicking him badly. He has received several injuries in his body. After the attacker left he called the Medipally police station and lodged a complaint under Section 324r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

This not only raises concern on an individual’s safety but also raises question on the security of the delivery boys given by the company. As we fight for safety rights for women, now do we need fight for the safety of delivery boys in future?
