4 Terrorists Killed in Encounter With Security Forces in Shopian, J&K

New Delhi : Four militants have been killed by security forces in Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir. After the encounter is over, a search operation is being carried out by sieging the area. The encounter took place in the Pinjora area of Shopian. Terrorists have not been identified yet. Five Hizbul Mujahideen militants, including the top commander, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Shopian on Sunday.

After receiving the intelligence information, the security forces surrounded the Reban area of Shopian in South Kashmir and launched a search operation after which the militants opened fire on them. After this the encounter started. Five Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed in the encounter and their bodies were recovered.

Police said that the slain militants were linked to Hizbul Mujahideen according to information received from reliable sources and one of them is believed to be the top commander. The spokesperson said that if a family claims that the slain terrorists are their relatives, they can come forward for identification.

He said that objectionable documents and ammunition have been recovered from the site of the encounter. The spokesman said that the material obtained from the site of the encounter has been kept for further investigation and the aspect of their involvement in other crimes is also being investigated.
