3 minor boys nabbed for stealing 5 cars, 3 bikes & theft at judge’s house

Officials from Hadapsar police station under Pune city police have detained three minor boys and claimed to have recovered stolen booty worth Rs 10.55 lakhs. Police have seized five cars and three bikes from their possession.

Police officials said that the boys used to commit thefts for merrymaking. They have also committed burglaries at the house of a judicial magistrate (first class) currently posted at the Pune district court in Shivajinagar and another house under Lonikand police station. From the judge’s house, they had stolen booty worth Rs 55,000 while in Lonikand they had stolen materials worth Rs 65,000.

A team from the detection branch of Hadapsar police station caught the three boys riding a stolen two-wheeler near Kawdepat toll plaza on the Pune-Solapur highway on October 2 (Tuesday). The had stolen the vehicle about 7-8 months ago from Hadapsar area.

Senior police inspector Sunil Tambe, in-charge of Hadapsar police station, said that during the investigation the boys told us about thefts they had committed. Accordingly, our team recovered five cars and three bikes from their possession. They used to commit thefts for merrymaking, inspector Tambe added.

The FIRs in these cases have been registered with Hadapsar, Chandan Nagar, Wanowrie, Lonikand, and Yavat police stations.

Investigation team included inspector Kumbhar, API Chavan, PSI Mangesh Bhange, and policemen Pratap Gaikwad, Vinod Shivale, Nitin Mundhe, Akbar Shaikh, Shashikant Nale, Yusuf Pathan, and Rajesh Navale.
