22 New Districts Created in Maharashtra! 

Udgir from Latur, Malegaon from Nashik and 3 districts from Ahmednagar

NP NEWS 24 : Mumbai: Police have proposed to construct 22 new districts and 49 new talukas including Kalyan, Meera-Bhayandar, Udgir, Bhusawal, Mahad and Kinwat.  A committee headed by the Chief Secretary has proposed the division of large districts. Soon, new districts and talukas will be added in the state.

In 2018, during the time of the then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, a committee headed by the Chief Secretary had studied the demands of creation of new districts. The committee consisted of Revenue, Planning Department Secretary, Finance, various party leaders and Divisional Commissioners. This committee proposes new districts and talukas before the committee.

It is proposed to create three new districts from Ahmednagar district. These include Shirdi, Sangamner and Shrirampur. It is proposed to create Malegaon and Kalwan districts from Nashik. From Latur district, Udgir can be a district soon. Udgir taluka bordering the Karnataka area is famous for its education, trade and food market. Demand for creation of this district has been in demand for many years. Protests and requests were also made for this.

If Udgir becomes a district, then two talukas Devani and Jalkot of Latur district will be included in Udgir. Then Nalegaon taluka will be newly established. Also, Mukaramabad taluka in Nanded district can be added to Udgir district. Two talukas of Nanded district, Deglunar and Mukhed, can also be connected to Udgir district.
