2 Sadhus Among 3 Lynched to Death by Mob In Maharashtra, Former CM Devendra Fadnavis Terms It ‘Humanity Shaming’ Incident

Mumbai : Barely 125 kilometers from Mumbai, a small village in Maharashtra’s Palghar district has reported a horrific case of mob killing on Friday. Here, a crowd of about 200 people beaten 2 sadhus and 1 driver to death. The opposition is constantly attacking the Uddhav government for the incident. At the same time, Maharashtra government has taken 101 people into custody, taking action on the ruthless killing of three people. This information was given by Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Office.

 

According to the information, in the tribal village of Dabhadi Khanvel Road in Palghar district, around 200 people had stoned all three of them as robbers and started stopping their vehicles. When these people stopped their vehicle, the mob took them off the vehicle and started beating them with sticks and rods.

When the villagers threw stones at them and tried to stop the vehicle, the driver informed the police about it. On this information, the police team immediately reached the spot and tried to stop the villagers. However, the crowd was so fierce that they even attacked the police. Police vehicles were also damaged in this attack.

A senior police officer of the district was also injured in the attack by villagers along with the officials of the Casa police station. In all, five policemen were injured in this incident. At the same time, two sadhus and a driver died on the spot in this incident.

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh tweeted, After the killing of 3 people going to Surat from Mumbai in Palghar, 101 people involved in this murder have been taken into police custody by my order. Also, a high-level inquiry has been ordered. The police will keep an eye on those who create rifts in the society by making this incident controversial.

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, ‘the cruelty with which the mob lynching in #Palghar happened, is beyond inhuman. I demand a High Level Enquiry and strictest action be taken at the earliest.’
