Youth set on fire by girlfriend dies on Valentine’s Day

Nashik : NpNews24 OnlineNashik Crime | A youth set on fire by his girlfriend and her family members died on Valentine’s Day. The police arrested his girlfriend, her parents and brother in this connection. They were upset with him as he was allegedly obstructing her from getting married.

 

The victim, identified as Gorakh Kashinath Bachhav (31), died while undergoing treatment for severe burns in a local hospital. According to details given by the police, the youth and the girl are from Lohoner in Deola taluka of the district. They were in love. However, the girl’s family was against their marriage. They wanted to marry her off to someone else. Hence, they were searching for a suitable boy for their daughter. However, they saw Gorakh as a hurdle in her marriage. They called Gorakh near the gram panchayat office. They started arguing with Gorakh, which led to a fight. He was beaten up with iron rods by his girlfriend and her family members. They doused petrol over him and set him afire. Gorakh received 85-percent burns in the incident. He was being treated at the civil hospital, Nashik.

 

Gorakh died on Monday while being treated in the hospital. The Nashik rural police arrested the girl, her parents and brother.
