Youth commits suicide a month after his friend hangs herself to death

Npnews24 Online Nagpur: A 19-year-old youth hanged himself to death suffering through survivor’s guilt, that he had been going through since his friend has committed suicide around a month ago.

Samyak Meshram, the youth, was a student of second year B.Com. Following a minor fight, a close female friend of his had committed suicide on April 5. Her relatives too had filed a complaint with the police stating that Meshram had provoked her to kill herself. He had been bailed out of the jail, but he was depressed.

On May 11, on finding himself alone in the house, Meshram hanged himself to death in his bedroom.

In his suicide note, he asked his parents for forgiveness, and said that he took the step as he could not overcome the grief.

Meshram is survived by his mother, father and a sister.
