Yet another senior citizen booked for sexual assault

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- We often come across cases where a minor is assaulted, molested, raped or tortured by men which shook’s us, but it is more outrageous when we come across cases when a senior citizen conducts such offence as we see them with utmost respect.

Recently in Goa, 70-year-old man was accused of allegedly molesting a woman and assaulting her friend. Later he was identified as Agnelo, a resident of Gauravado in Calangute, Goa. Police inspector Jivba Dalvi told that they received a complaint from a lady residing at Gauravado, Calangute that the accused person grabbed her hand and forcefully tried to hug her. Meanwhile, the lady rescued herself and later her friend went to confront with the accused when even her friend was also assaulted with a knife. During which the accused was injured. The accused was immediately arrested under Sections 354 and 324 of the Indian Penal Code.

In a similar case in Goa, an unidentified man raped a 48-year-old British tourist near Palolem beach in South Goa. The survivor, who had gone to catch a train from Canacona to Thivim station located in North Goa district, was returning back as the train had delayed arrival.

The woman had complained to the police that while she was walking from a local railway station to the beach during the wee hours when an unknown person raped her by pushing her at the roadside in the paddy fields near BSNL’s office.

Moving towards the northern part, in Lucknow, a 76-year-old man was arrested on charges of molesting a minor in the elevator of a high-rise building. The man was kept in Dasna Jail but the man’s health has been poor ever since he was arrested he died in the jail itself.

In Tamil Nadu, a 63-year-old man was given rigorous imprisonment of 10 years after he sexually assaulted niece’s 12-year-old daughter.

On the other side, in Mumbai, 60-year-old senior citizen to two years of rigorous imprisonment after it found him guilty of molesting a 9-year-old girl in park.
