Writer Bhalchandra Nemade charged with non-bialable offense in Jamner

Jamner: Eminent Marathi writer Bhalchandra Nemade has been charged with a non-bialable offense registerd at Jamner Police Station for allegedly hurting sentiments of women of the Banjara community in his novel Hindu:Jagnyachi Samruddha Adgal.

Adv. Bharat Pawar lodged a complaint with the police and a case has been registered against him. A statement issued by the offficials of the National Banjara Tigers to the Jamner Tehsildar Arun Shewale on Monday demanded that the Jnanpith Award given to Nemade be withdrawn. The organization has also demanded to register a case against the publisher of the book, Harsh Bhatkal.

 During this, Ramesh Naik, Nilesh Chavan, Mulchand Naik, Rajesh Naik, Madan Jadhav, Chatar Singh Rathod, Lalchand Chavan, Aishwarya Rathod, Anju Pawar, Pushpa Rathod, Devidas Rathod, Chetan Naik, Ganesh Rathod, Balu Chavan, Ramkisan Naik, Kishore Naik, Chatar Singh Pawar, Adv. Bharat Pawar, Deepak Chavan, Vikas Tanwar, Sandeep Jadhav, Amol Pawar, Sonsingh Rathod, Morsingh Rathod, Bhurasingh Rathod, Akshay Jadhav, Deepak Pawar, Indal Jadhav etc. were present.

Also, on the complaint of Adv. Pawar, Nemade has been charged under Section 500,501,502 of the Penal Code.
