We all know whom Param Bir Singh met in Delhi, truth will come out after investigation: NCP leader Nawab Malik

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson Nawab Malik on Monday defended his party colleague and Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Speaking to media, Nawab Malik said that the BJP’s claims that Anil Deshmukh held a press conference or met police officers during his Covid-19 quarantine period were false and baseless.

“Parambir Singh’s letter raises some questions as it was written after transfer. There is no doubt that a probe will be launched into the allegation”, he said.

“In the letter, he mentioned that he met Home Minister, but the Home Minister was on a Vidarbha tour from February 1 to 5. He tested covid positive on February 15 and not until February 28 did he meet anyone. All these questions raise doubts about the letter,” Malik said.

Malik said there will be a probe (against Home Minister Anil Deshmukh) in the matter and party will take a call only after probe. “Param Bir Singh’s letter raises questions, it was written after transfer. There’ll be a probe (against Home Minister Anil Deshmukh). Resignation has been asked on basis of letter, no question it’ll happen. Party will take a call only after probe,” Malik was quoted saying.

“We know the meetings Param Bir Singh had in Delhi. The truth will come out after the investigation,” he added.

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and workers staged protests in various cities demanding the resignation of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in view of allegations of corruption levelled against him by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh.
