Urmila Matondkar is Congress candidate for Mumbai North seat

Mumbai, March 29 (IANS) Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar on Friday was named as the Congress candidate for the Mumbai North Lok Sabha constituency. She will contest against sitting Bharatiya Janata Party MP Gopal Shetty.

After joining the party, Matondkar said that she believes in the Congress’ ideology and hence joined the party. She said she felt the need to join the Congress party as the freedom to express was under attack in the country and there are numerous examples in this regard in the last five years.
