Two arrested for borrowing Rs 27 lakhs by mortgaging fake gold in Nigdi

Pimpri : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Crime | A group of three persons cheated a company named Himgiri Hire Purchase Ltd. by mortgaging fake gold jewellery and taking a loan of Rs 27.80 lakh. A case has been registered against them while two have been arrested. The incident took place between March 19, 2021 and March 25, 2022. (Pune Pimpri Chinchwad Crime)

The managing director of the company ‘Himgiri Hire Purchase Ltd’, Dinesh Rajmal Jain (52), has lodged a complaint at the Nigdi Police Station. Accordingly, a case under sections 420, 34, 506 of the IPC has been registered against Santosh Bhagwat Bagal (40) from Kiwale, Rahul Bhimappa Baligar (40) from Dehu Road, Sunil Kashinath Waghmare (47) from Kiwale. Santosh Bagal and Sunil Waghmare have been arrested.

According to the police, Himgiri Hire Purchase Ltd. company disburses loans by receiving gold as collateral. The accused brought fake gold weighing 813.7 grams. A loan of Rs 27.80 lakh was taken from the company by showing fake receipts for the purchase of gold. They defrauded the company by not repaying the loan. After realising that the gold was fake, the company demanded back the money. Santosh Bagal called and threatened to kill the company officer. The police are conducting further investigation.
