Trader duped of Rs 9 lakh on the pretext of arms licence in Wakad area

Pimpri : NpNews24 Online  –   Pune Pimpri Crime | A fraud of Rs 9 lakhs has been detected, in which a businessman was promised an Arms licence. The incident took place between January 2019 and December 2022 at Tapkirnagar, Kalewadi. (Pune Pimpri Crime)

 

In this regard, Prasad alias Digambar Tukaram Fuge (27) from Bhosari has filed a complaint at Wakad Police Station on Friday. The police have registered an FIR under IPC 406, 420 against Raj alias Dhanraj Balu Gaikwad (30) from Pune.

 

According to the police, the complainant has Parle G Biscuit, Marlboro Cigarette distributorship and is a farmer. He wanted an arms licence for self-defence. For this, he had applied to the State Home Department. The accused called the complainant and told the identity of his friend Nitin Bhosle. He also called the complainant to cousin Mayur Gawli’s house saying that he will get an arms licence. (Pune Pimpri Crime)

 

When the complainant went to his cousin’s home, the accused said, “I work in the Ministry. I look after the work of the home department. I got your file and contacted you. I have got an arms licence for many people in the city and you too will get it within five to six months.”
The complainant trusted him and paid Rs 8.63 lakh from time to time in cash and online.

 

Despite paying the money, the accused committed financial fraud without giving an arms licence.
