TikTok launches campaign to celebrate Onam 

Np News 24 Online : Onam, also known as Thiru-Onam or Thiruvonam (Sacred Onam Day) and Sravanmahotsav, is the time when families and friends come together to celebrate good harvest and happiness. The festival is celebrated with a lot of fervour by organising boat races and colourful masked dances, amongst other things. Intricate flower arrangements with music and prayers are also a major part of the celebrations.

To add to the joyous occasion and excitement, TikTok, world’s leading short video app, has launched a new campaign to bring the festive community together for the celebrations. mAs part of the creative campaign, the TikTok community posted videos with flower decorations using #TikTokPookkalam and garnered over 8 million views.

This isn’t it! TikTok also encouraged its users to spread love and happiness this Onam by posting videos using #Onam2019. Thousands of TikTok users posted creative videos expressing the joy with quirky Mahabali face stickers and Happy Onam Frame including the major Onam symbols such as flower decoration (Pookkalam), feast (Sadhya), ‘special boat’ (Chundan Vallam) and the mud idol (Mathevar). With the melodious playlist that includes 50 Onam songs, users shared the innovative and creative videos to celebrate this festival of harvest!
