Shiv Jayanti celebrated by tying phetas to 200 students of NMV School

Pune :  NpNews24 Online –  On the occasion of Shiv Jayanti, on behalf of Veer Hanuman Mitra Mandal, saffron phetas were tied to the 200 students of NMV School (Boys) on Friday.

Chief guest Deepak Mankar of NCP and former mayor Rajlaxmi Bhosale, Ajay Bhosale, former opposition leader Datta Sagre, Amit Gaikwad, Santosh Shinde and Balasaheb Dabhekar were present.

A photo of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was garlanded and the programme started with a powada sung by Prasad Pasalkar. The students were happy because they were wearing the pheta in the school for the first time. Famous painter Nilesh Kharade painted a beautiful picture of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Anand Sagare said, “I am a former student of the school. I also used to sit among the students and watch the programme. I feel happy when I see all of you wearing phetas. Fulfill your dreams and bring glory for your school.’’

Deepak Mankar said, “All of you are mavalas (foot soldiers) and you should try to imbibe the thinking, philosophy and ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He was a great patriot and an able administrator. One one hand, he was a very powerful leader but was also known for his kindness. He ruled the hearts of the common people in Maharashtra and we should never forget him.’’

After the school was over, the students proudly showed the phetas to their parents. The students went home wearing the turbans. Rajlaxmi Bhosale also wished the students on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti.

The supervisor of the school, Sangeet Kale and all teachers were present at the programme.

Anand Datta Sagare made the introductory remarks and Rajendra Rajguru Sir delivered a motion of thanks. The programme was conducted by Milind Kulkarni. The programme was organised by Anand Datta Sagare, president of Veer Hanuman Mitra Mandal.
