Security Personnel to wear body camera at Pune Jn.

Npnews24 online, Pune : To tighten the security at Pune Railway Stations, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and government railway police (GRP) will now be wearing body camera while making rounds on the platform and the in the vicinity of the stations.

Around 25 cameras will be supplied to them by the railway security headquarters to safeguard stations. Personnel posted at the stations will be continuously making rounds and will record the happening during peak hours and when long-distance train will arrive at stations.

Lately, several complaints have been made by passengers to the authority regarding mobile theft and pick-pocketing.

Commenting on the initiative, additional security officer BK Makrariya said, ‘’these are hi-tech camera and have the capacity to record for eight hours at a stretch. The three authorities, the GRP, RPF and the divisional railway manager (DRM)’s office are up in arms and are making collective efforts to maintain law and order in the vicinity.

An official said, ‘’There is continuous efforts from all the team, especially RPF and GRP, who are engaged in safeguarding railway stations.
