Register FIR of manslaughter against Uddhav Thackeray and Lifeline company, demands Kirit Somaiyya

Pune : Policenama online Pune Shivajinagar Covid Center Case | Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kirit Somaiyya has made a demand to the Shivaji Nagar police that an FIR of manslaughter should be registered against former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and Lifeline company. Somaiyya alleged, “Uddhav Thackeray has made an attempt to play with the people’s lives. The contract for managing the Covid centre set up at Shivaji Nagar was given to Lifeline, which is a non-existent company, by Uddhav Thackeray and concerned officials. Meanwhile, some patients lost their lives in the centre. Hence, an FIR should be registered against Uddhav Thackeray and officials.” (Pune Shivajinagar Covid Center Case)

Speaking to journalists in Pune, Somaiyya said, “MP Sanjay Raut’s partner Sujit Patkar’s Lifeline company had been given permission to set up a Covid centre. However, the company did not exist and the contract was given to the company by bending all rules by former CM Thackeray and PMRDA officials. We have seen how bills were issued during that period.”

“Meanwhile, the health of 100 patients was ruined after they were admitted to Covid centre at Shivaji Nagar. Some patients developed kidney problems and some developed heart problems and some patients lost their lives. It came to light that this had happened due to the negligence of the Lifeline company. Later, the company was blacklisted,” he said.

“Lifeline company was blacklisted but the government did not register a criminal complaint against the company. But still, Uddhav Thackeray’ son Aaditya gave a contract to Lifeline company in Worli constituency. On one hand, a company was blacklisted and on the other hand, the company was given a contract. Hence, these things should be probed,” he added.
