Pune : Wakad police nabs 84 youths for harassing women, people with Holi colours

Pune : Np News Network- In a stern against hooliganism in the name of Holi festival, officials from Wakad police station under Pimpri-Chinchwad police commissionerate, on Thursday detained 84 youths who were harassing people especially women by throwing colours, balloons etc while they were passing by major chowks, roads.

As per information given by senior police inspector Satish Mane, in-charge of Wakad police station, action has been taken against these youths for relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.

A total of seven officers and 75 policemen have been deployed on bandobast duty to prevent such rowdy youths. Police said the action will be continue by till late evening.

Meanwhile, the youths taken into custody will be kept today in the police station. Police have also taken four wheelers and two wheelers from them.
