Pune: Two persons booked for attacking cop in Hadapsar

Pune: Hadapsar police booked two persons for allegedly injuring a cop by hitting a beer bottle in his head. The incident took place in front of Mayur Pia Beer Shop on March 17 at 11 pm.

Hadapsar police have registered a case against Omkar alias Bunty Kakade, resident of Mahadevnagar, Hadapsar and Ashwin alias Bhau Padghamkar. Ravi Ratan Rathod (28, resident of Chintamani Park, Manjari) has lodged a complaint in this regard.

According to the police, Rathod was going home on a two-wheeler after completing his duty. At that time, the two were seen arguing with their acquaintance hence Rathod went to check on them. The two were arguing over alcohol as the shop was closed. When Rathod tried to intervene explaining about the closed store, Omkar hurled abuses, slapped and hit a beer bottle in Rathod’s head. Police have registered a case against the two.
