Pune: Two Leopards Caught in CCTV Cameras

PUNE : NP NEWS 24 ONLINE-  Two leopards which entered the area of Chandoli Budruk, Ambegaon taluka which is in the human habitation area has been recorded in the CCTV camera and this is the second such incident in the last two months.

There is a house of a farmer named Ganesh Sahebrao Thorat Patil, at Beldattawadi area of Chandoli village. This house is surrounded by sugarcane farms. Two years ago, a motorcycle was stolen by an unknown person from the house of Ganesh Thorat. Thereafter, another motorcycle was also stolen from the same place. Therefore, for safety this farmer had installed six CCTV cameras inside and outside the house.

Two months ago, Ganesh Thorat saw a tigress with her two cubs near that house. But at that time, these animals were not caught in the CCTV footage. But this time, two leopards were caught in CCTV Cameras while they were passing from behind the house. They were passing the house at 9 : 55 pm on Monday night.

On Tuesday evening, when a farmer Ganesh Thorat checked the footage of the CCTV cameras, he saw one leopard standing near a tree first, after a few minutes, another leopard also came near the previous one and then they passed from near the house.

Because of such incidents, the farmers of the area got feared and panicked created among farmers. Former Upsarpanch of the village, Sandeep Thorat has demanded that the forest department should seize a leopard.

The Sarpanch of Chandoli Budruk village, Priti Praveen Thorat said that most of this area was occupied by sugarcane farms and other crops due to the river. Wild trees are also in large numbers due to the hills. It seems to be beneficial to wild animals.
