Pune: Shivtare resolves to enter the fray from Baramati, may resign from Shiv Sena (BT)

Pune: The entire country is curious to know how developments are taking place in the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. It is said that there would be a direct fight between NCP (AP) candidate Sunetra Pawar and NCP (SP) candidate and sitting MP Supriya Sule.

Both the camps are campaigning aggressively. All the Pawar family members have decided to campaign for Sule and against their own family member Sunetra.

However, Shiv Sena (BT) leader Vijay Shivtare is preparing to rebel against the official candidate of the Maha Yuti. He has decided that he would file his nominations from Baramati. Allegations and counter-allegations are being made over this. Ajit Pawar warned Shivtare on Wednesday but the latter was in no mood to listen.

Shivtare has been criticizing Ajit Pawar for the past several days. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar responded to his criticism on Wednesday. He said, “I don’t know about Shivtare’s candidature. CM Eknath Shinde has already told him about this. It is up to him whether he listens to his party leaders. We don’t want to spoil the atmosphere. We can also give tit for tat. We want to face the election without disrupting the harmony in the Maha Yuti.”

Now, Shivtare has said that he would resign from the Shiv Sena (BT). He said, “Ajit Pawar’s cousin sister Supriya Sule has been the MP for the past 15 years. But she did not sanction money for the proposed dam. Now, they are appealing to voters to vote for the ideology and funds will be granted. Which ideology did she represent earlier?

“The dam water will not only be available for Purandar but also for Bhor, Velha too. How many times did Sule hold meetings for the dam? The entire responsibility of the incomplete dam project is that of the NCP.”

‘I may quit the party if situation demands’

Shivtare said, “I am only speaking about the technical aspect. I have not spoken arrogantly. I want answers to the questions raised about the dam. Voters from the constituency do not want to vote for Ajit Pawar’s party. I know that I have to follow the Maha Yuti’s decision. If some people are so much against a candidate, we will have to decide a different course of action. I will quit the party. All my supporters are also ready to face the poll on our own.”
