Pune: Sexual Assault on Minor Girl Faking Marriage Proposal; Hadapsar Police Booked Accused Under POCSO

Pune: A 17-year-old girl living in Mundhwa registered a police complaint about a fake marriage promise and was thus sexually assaulted by a 27-year-old man. She alleged that the accused person falsely lured her with a fake marriage promise and illicitly established sexual relationships with her. This complete incident took place between January 2022 and September 2023 in the house of the victim girl as well as in Shirdi, Delhi, and Ambarnath.

This incident came to light on Sunday after the victim girl filed a complaint against the accused, Manish Sujit Nagpure, 27, at Mundhwa police station.

The police informed that the accused and the plaintiff were in a relationship with each other earlier. The accused falsely promised a victim girl marriage and kept physical relations with her. The girl mentioned that the accused used to take her to different places and kept physical relations with her in spite of having a clear idea of her minor age.

However, when the girl asked him about the marriage, the accused shamelessly refused her request and asked her not to trouble him again. Astonished by the accused’s changed behaviour, the plaintiff filed a complaint against the accused at Hadapsar police station.

Taking stringent note of it, police booked the accused under IPC 376, 376/2/N, and the POCSO Act against Nagpure. Further investigation is being conducted by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Mahanor.
