Pune Rural Police seize ganja worth Rs 10 lakh; four arrested

Pune: Local Crime Branch of Pune Rural Police has arrested four persons including a woman for transporting ganja worth Rs 10 lakh. This consignment was busted in Boriendi in Daund tehsil of Pune district.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Prakash Rajendra Jadhav (20), a resident of Kharabwadi village in Khed tehsil; Tanaji Digambar Jadhav (21) from Osmanabad and currently residing at Nigdi; Suresh alias Arjun Digambar Pawar (42) and Draupada Arjun Pawar (47) both from Daund. A case has been registered at Yavat police station against the suspects.

According to the police, a suspicious car was spotted on Boriendi Bharatgaon road while patrolling. The police chased the car and inspected the car upon stopping it. Police found 41 kgs of ganja in the car’s trunk. They have confiscated 41 kg ganja along with 3 mobiles from the accused.

The police have arrested the accused and booked them under NDPS act section 8(B) and 20 (B). The investigation was carried out under the guidance of SP (Pune Rural) Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, Additional SP (Baramati) Milind Mohite and was led by Police Inspector Padmakar Ghanwat.
